What should I know when staying in a hotel in Nepal?

by anamika on March 14, 2009

Here is the list of things that helps you to make your stay in a hotel in Nepal hassle free.

  1. Check if the hotels provide pickup at the airport. If they provide the pickup, then you are spared of the hassles of dealing with taxi drivers and agents of the hotel.
  2. Check in at the hotel and settle down at your room.
  3. Ask the meal times if you are having them at the hotel itself.
  4. If your room does not have attached bathroom, then find out the nearest bathroom you will be using.
  5. Carry a flashlight (torchlight) in case there is an electricity blackout. Nepal has blackout for plenty of time some going as far as 16 hours per day.
  6. If you need hot water, find out whether the hotel provides it.
  7. The check out time at most hotels is generally at 12 noon. If you want a vehicle (car or taxi) arranged, ask hotel staff beforehand.
